Electrodermal Screening
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, a form of bodily energy called chi is generated in internal organs. It circulates throughout the body, forming paths near the skin's surface called meridians. This whole-body network is called the meridian system. Acupuncture points are points on the skin, usually located on meridians, where the circulation of chi can be manipulated.
The Electrodermal Screening Test (EDST) allows our acupuncturist to perform a comprehensive scan that measures the flow of energy through acupuncture points associated with your body’s major systems. By carefully analyzing this energy flow in each of the meridians, your practitioner can evaluate whether any of these pathways are blocked or restricted. This helps identify what might be at the root of any manifested ailment and assists in the practitioner in developing an appropriate treatment plan.
The EDST also helps to identify which nutritional foods, Chinese herbal formulae, homeopathic formulae, or supplements, would be appropriate, and at what potency, to help alleviate the symptoms and ultimately clear the condition, such as:
Your practitioner uses the BioScan System™, an FDA-cleared, non-invasive, pain-free method that helps our practitioner create a customized protocol for your journey to strengthen and balance your body. You hold a small brass electrode in one hand while our practitioner uses a stylus to touch various acupuncture points on your hands and feet. Each point is associated with certain organs or systems in your body.
